What we collect and why
Updated 14 October 2026We keep the smallest amount of information needed to teach your child and to keep them safe. We do not sell it, and we only email you news about Enseigne if you ask for our newsletter.
What we hold
Your child’s name, age, school and track; a parent or guardian name, phone number and email; attendance, project work and instructor notes; and payment references from our payment provider. We never store card numbers ourselves.
Why we hold it
To place your child in the right class, to contact you about classes and fees, to give feedback on their work, and to report anonymised totals to partner schools and funders.
Who can see it
Instructors see the students they teach. The programmes team sees enrolment and fees. Partner schools see their own club’s attendance and progress, never another school’s. Nobody else, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Project work and certificates stay while your child is enrolled and for two years after, so we can reissue a certificate. Enrolment records are kept for six years for accounting. You can ask us to delete anything else at any time.
The newsletter
If you ask for it, we email a newsletter about once a month with programme news, events and learning ideas. It is only for adults, and we only start once you confirm your address from the email we send. We keep your email, your name if you give it, and a record of when and how you agreed, because consent is our reason for sending it. Our email provider, Resend, sends it on our behalf from the United States under standard contractual clauses. We do not track whether you open newsletters or click their links. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link, and the same link lets you delete your newsletter data. Sign-ups that are never confirmed are deleted after thirty days.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your family’s data, ask us not to photograph your child, withdraw showcase permission, and unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Email hello@enseignee.com and we will act within thirty days. You can also complain to Ghana’s Data Protection Commission.
